What it is
Vixen Media Group (VMG) is the premium cinematic studio group founded in 2014 by French director Greg Lansky, with partners Steve Matthyssen and Mike Miller. Headquartered in Los Angeles, VMG grew from a single studio (Vixen) into a nine-brand stable — Vixen, Blacked, Blacked Raw, Tushy, Tushy Raw, Deeper, Slayed, Wifey, and Milfy — reaching 45 million monthly uniques by 2019 without paid acquisition.
The production style is cinematographic: high budgets per scene, curated performer rosters, scripted narratives, and an aesthetic that reads more like feature film than traditional studio porn. VMG dominates AVN Award nominations year over year (60+ nods in the 2024 cycle).
In January 2020, Lansky sold his majority stake to an unnamed international investment group. He has stayed out of the adult industry under a non-compete and has since focused on subscription media investing and advising. Cofounder Mike Miller remained in operational roles post-sale. The current ownership structure has not been publicly disclosed.
How it operates
VMG operates on an exclusive/curated performer model more than the per-scene open-booking model common at Bang Bros or Aylo studios. Performers are typically signed or scouted into a roster that shoots across multiple VMG brands. Bookings come through agent relationships, performer referrals, and industry reputation; direct solicitation from VMG is uncommon.
Shoots are production-heavy: multi-day schedules, dedicated crews, on-location travel for many scenes. Testing is PASS-compliant, paperwork is industry-standard, and on-set production standards are among the highest in the industry. The cinematic-production quality is the genuine differentiator of the network.
Distribution is within the VMG network: scene published first on the specific brand paysite (Vixen.com, Blacked.com, etc.) and cross-promoted across sister VMG sites. Syndication to tube aggregators is more tightly controlled than Aylo-network content because VMG monetizes primarily through its own subscription walls.

Rate structure
Public pay figures for VMG are not disclosed by the company. Industry reporting places VMG among the highest-paying mainstream networks in the industry, reflecting the production budgets per scene. Exclusive contract terms — which are offered to a small curated roster — include higher guaranteed income in exchange for significant work restrictions, but specific terms are confidential.
Per-scene rates for non-exclusive performers booked into VMG scenes are reported to cluster in the upper mainstream range. Payment timing and terms are individual to each booking and each contract; the industry assumption is net-7 to net-30 payment for non-exclusive scenes, same-day at wrap for exclusive performers — but this should be verified on the specific release presented.
Contract patterns
VMG exclusive contracts are the single most consequential contract decision a performer can make inside the independent-network segment. They typically lock the performer out of competing studios, may include social-media and OnlyFans restrictions, guarantee scene count and rate, and run multi-year. The calculus is entirely terms-specific: same contract shape can be a career-defining opportunity or a multi-year constraint depending on the numbers.
Non-exclusive releases follow standard industry patterns: distribution rights across the VMG network, broad assignment language, limited takedown recourse. The post-2020 change of ownership means older releases may have been signed against the Lansky-era entity that has since been acquired; current releases run under the current entity.
- Current ownership entity on the release you're signing — Lansky-era entity no longer owns; confirm which post-2020 entity the release binds
- If offered an exclusive: specific scene guarantee per year, rate per scene, social-media restrictions, OnlyFans restrictions, termination rights, and what happens to content if contract ends
- Whether the release grants rights to successor entities — under undisclosed ownership, successor-assignment language is especially consequential
- Distribution scope: specific VMG sister brands authorized, any syndication to tube networks, international licensing
- Payment terms in writing — non-exclusive scenes commonly net-7 to net-30; confirm for your release
- Which specific brand will publish your scene (Vixen vs Blacked vs Tushy vs Deeper) — each attaches a different permanent tag to your stage name
- Content-removal or takedown mechanism in writing — at premium-network scale with controlled distribution, recall is more feasible than at Aylo scale, but confirm it's in the contract not just policy
- No exclusive contract, no multi-year restrictions. You can work with us and with anyone else. No opportunity cost to shooting with us.
- Direct booking, no agent intermediary required. You keep the agent commission if you don’t want one.
- Single studio, single corporate entity on the release. No successor-entity ambiguity. The entity you signed with is the entity operating.
- Written distribution scope. No broader network, no sister-brand syndication, no licensing chain.
- Same-day pay at wrap, direct to performer. No net-7, no net-30, no agency intermediary on your money.
