Bang Bros — Read This Before You Sign

Note: Before Your Scene is the editorial arm of My First Scene, our DFW production studio. We write about the industry — including us.

If you’ve been booked for a Bang Bros scene — directly, through an agency, or after being scouted — read this before you sign the release. Bang Bros is legal, licensed, and has operated since 2000. It has also paid a $650,000 FTC settlement and weathered a documented case of a 15-year-old girl appearing in its content. The pay is real; so is the brand that will be permanently attached to your name afterward.

What it is

Bang Bros is a Miami-based internet porn production company operating since 2000. The core brand runs dozens of sub-brands — Bang Bus, BangBros18, PornstarsLikeItBig, PornstarsLikeItBlack, CheckMyCamel, and many others — across a shared production infrastructure housed in a warehouse complex near Miami International Airport.

Published reporting in Miami New Times identifies Jeffrey Greenberg, a Miami CPA, as manager of Bang Bros and its sister studio Reality Kings, together forming an estimated $18 million Miami production empire. Greenberg has not been convicted of any crime.

How it operates

Bang Bros runs a high-volume amateur/gonzo production model. Performers apply through the website or via agencies, sign a model release plus 2257 records paperwork plus a W-9, and shoot in the Miami facility or on location. Shoot days follow industry-standard amateur production flow: ID verification, paperwork before cameras, scene shot, payment at wrap.

The “amateur” framing that runs through most sub-brands — Bang Bus’s picking-up-strangers premise, BangBros18’s first-timer framing — is scripted. Performers are booked in advance, know what they’re shooting, and sign consent. The spontaneity is the product.

Content is distributed across BangBros’s paysite network and syndicated across tube aggregators. The brand’s recognition outside the industry is high, which means scenes index under your stage name prominently and permanently in search.

Publicly documented issues
  • June 2005 · BangBros.com, Inc. settled an FTC enforcement action for $650,000 for violating the Adult Labeling Rule and the CAN-SPAM Act — commercial emails of sexually explicit material sent without the required 'sexually explicit' subject-line notice. Wikipedia
  • 2011–2013 · A 15-year-old, using the stage name 'Amber Lynn,' appeared in a Bang Bros production after allegedly being coerced and provided with a fake ID. A 2013 Miami New Times investigation identified at least two additional underage appearances in Bang Bros content under Greenberg's ownership. No criminal charges were filed (insufficient evidence per police); the videos were removed after police involvement, and an undisclosed settlement was paid to the family. Miami New Times
  • 2013 · Follow-up Miami New Times reporting and reader response documented additional allegations and called for civil action against the studio over the minor's appearance in content. Miami New Times
  • Various · Performer lawsuits have named Bang Bros in disputes including a suit by a married performer invoking Florida's adultery statute. Public record of individual performer-vs-studio litigation at BB volume. Miami New Times
  • 2019, 2022 · Bang Bros publicly offered $10M-plus for naming rights to the Miami Heat's arena (as 'Bang Bros Center' / 'BBC'). Both bids were rejected. Relevant only as context for how the brand represents itself publicly. Miami New Times

Rate structure

Publicly reported rates cluster around industry-standard amateur pay: roughly $1,500 per day for a single scene based on Glassdoor and Indeed data aggregated from performers. Rates vary by scene type, exclusivity, and whether a performer is booked as a repeat or one-off. Same-day pay at wrap is standard.

Bang Bros has been reported to offer co-branded content deals and revenue-share arrangements for top performers who drive traffic or subscribers. These deals are individual, not a published schedule.

Contract patterns

Public court records document that Bang Bros uses contractors such as Venetian Productions to execute shoots, with performers signing a “performer agreement,” a 2257 records-keeping sheet, and a W-9. The release grants broad distribution rights across the Bang Bros network and syndication partners.

The consequence for you is the same as for any large network: once your scene ships, it lives across dozens of properties. Content-removal mechanisms in amateur-tier releases at this scale are effectively nonexistent.

Before signing, verify
  • Which specific sub-brand your scene will be filed under — 'Bang Bus' vs 'BangBros18' vs 'PornstarsLikeItBig' attaches a different permanent tag to your stage name
  • Exact distribution scope — the BangBros paysite network, tube syndication partners, and any licensed international distribution
  • Age-verification process on set — given the 2011–2013 documented failures, ask specifically how IDs are verified and records kept
  • Whether the contractor shooting you is BangBros directly or a sub-contractor like Venetian Productions, and which entity owns the release
  • Same-day pay at wrap — get it in writing, not verbal
  • STI testing protocol for every participant on set, PASS or equivalent, current within industry standard window
  • Any content-removal or takedown mechanism in writing — at this distribution scale, realistic answer is none, so know that before signing
How we do it differently
Bang Bros is a legal production. The issues in the record above — historical age-verification failures, uncapped syndication, a brand name that reads literal to any future employer — are the exact reasons we built My First Scene to work differently.
  • Distribution is named and capped in writing. Every platform your scene appears on is listed in the release. No “and syndication partners” open-ended language.
  • ID verification is explicit, documented, and shown to you. You see the 2257 file we’re building. You’re not trusting a verbal check.
  • One production, one contract, no subcontractor layer. The entity on your release is the entity paying you and the entity holding your records. Full stop.
  • Stage-name choice is yours, protected. Scenes are filed under the name you choose. No “Bang Bus”-style trope framing baked into the scene title.
  • Written content-removal path. Circumstances change. There’s a process for that, in the contract, before you sign.
